Originally created at a recent John Wynn and Doug Smith guitar concert, this painting is a true collaboration between myself and Logan Larsen. Recognizing the potential of what we had when we left the concert, Logan and I determined to continue to work on it in terms of a Cubist paradigm. We visited the studio of Cynthia Brants (Granbury, TX) in order to study how she developed Cubism beyond its early 20th c. forms. We came back to the studio and continued to refine the painting. I'm pleased with the result, not only because it is a very solid, handsome image, but also because it represents a successful artistic collaboration, which is always a joyful remembrance.
