Artist's Statement
My work focuses on color and composition, and encompasses a broad range of subject matter. I am most enthusiastic about music, the synergy between musicians and artists, and creating paintings live during music events, which I have enjoyed here in McKinney. From this has emerged the Arts and Music Guild, a new non-profit professional network of visual and literary artists and musicians, dedicated to serving the community through the arts. (www.ArtsandMusicGuild.org)
During my graduate studies at Yale, I developed a strong business in decorative painting and murals. It was the perfect opportunity for me to explore and create original designs in styles from Classical to Contemporary, including French Provencal, Mediterranean, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Early American, Japanese and Chinese. I am privileged to be in McKinney during this surge in growth of its arts and culture. I'm particularly pleased to be a part of MAST (www.McKinneyArtStudioTour.com), the Art Club of McKinney, and the McKinney Creative Community. I also participate in, and help spread the word about, Second Saturday Art Walk every month in downtown McKinney. Please visit my studio anytime, or look for my work at Orisons Fine Art and Framing on the Square (www.orisonsart.com).
